The Problem

Job-Hunt.org is an award-winning employment portal.  The site is designed to help job seekers find employment and help employers/recruiters looking for help with the online employment world.  Although www.Job-Hunt.org is in the top half of one percent of all websites with regards to popularity and traffic, its webmaster, Susan Joyce, wanted to increase the number of unique visitors to the site.

The Solution

Peter Arnold Associates (PAA) began targeting national print, online and broadcast media outlets with pitch letters and distributing news releases using paid wire services.  Each pitch letter and news release contained at least one live link to Job-Hunt.org’s website and/or an active link to an article featured on the website.  Our goal was to not only to seek telephone interviews and/or articles about Job-Hunt.org, but also to increase the number of click-throughs to the Job-hunt.org website.

The Results

Among the interviews and print/online placements that resulted from PAA’s media outreach are articles in BusinessWeek Online, Fortune Magazine and Women’s Business.  Following our first news release distribution, Job-Hunt.org had an increase of 18,000 in-bound links on Google.  Within six months of our work with Job-Hunt.org, traffic to its website increased by 40% from under 10,000 hits per day to the second busiest day in Job-Hunt history, which drew in nearly 14,000 visitors.
